'Poppies’ Framed Original Artwork, 2024
Original large framed artwork by Claudio Kirac
Oil on canvas, float framed in Tasmanian Oak
90x120cm
FLOWERS IN STUDIO (THE JOY OF FLOWERS) is a love letter to the blooms I’ve been photographing from the florist next door to my new studio. Moving into a new painting space has been a reset, giving me fresh eyes to study colour, shape and form. I’ve always admired the old masters and their still life works, so here I pay homage to them, working with oils, layered to capture the interplay of colour, texture and light. Flowers from the market, a gift from a lover, an indulgence, just because. These works are all about finding beauty in the ordinary, in the now.
The joy of flowers – to brighten a day, to mark a moment or to enjoy (without reason).
